Competitive Sailing Opportunity’s
RAFSA Dinghy Division supports serving members to take part in dinghy events throughout the UK. Whatever dinghy class you sail you could be eligible to have financial support pending approval from the dinghy division committee. We have many members who currently take part in the 2000 Class , GP14, ICLA 7, RS Vareo, Phantom & K1 events throughout the UK. If you sail a class that hasn’t been mentioned then please get in touch.
2000 Class Association
Many RAFSA sailors take part in the 2000 Class Association Millennium Series, Latitude Series national circuit events and the UK National Championships. If you require a boat, RAFSA have a fleet that are available to all members. Duty travel has been authorised for the events. We have also secured sponsorship to reduce the UK Nationals Entry fee to £200. Please contact us to find out more on the amazing opportunity to sail at these events. Don’t worry if you haven’t competed at an event before RAFSA members are always on hand to provide support and guidance. See below the events that you can attend.

Inter Services Sailing Events
As a serving member you can be part of the team representing the RAF at Inter Service (IS) events. All abilities are welcome, whether you’ve just learnt to sail or a seasoned dinghy sailor. Please get in touch via email or message if you’re interested in being part of the team.
Events are as follows:-
24th – 26th Apr 24 (Training Day 23rd Apr)- Inter Services Team Racing – Bowmoor SC, Cotswolds
5th – 6th September 24 – Inter Services Match Racing – Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble, Southampton.
J70 Keelboat Match Racing – All abilities welcome, training provided. Service accommodation provided.
19th – 20th September 24 – Joint Services Dinghy Asymmetric ‘Gold Cup’ Championships – Army Inshore Sailing Centre, Thorney Island, Emsworth
The premier JS dinghy event of the year! Sailed in the 2000 dinghy, boat can be provided by RAFSA. If you require a crew or helm then please get in touch.
